Welcome to the first Volleyball Empire's Imperial Beach Conquest!

1. Location and Time: The tournament will take place at Habtoor Grand Resort, and it starts at 5:00 PM. Please make sure to arrive in advance to have enough time for a proper warm-up, we recommend to arrive 30 minutes prior.

1. Tournament Format: We have 8 teams participating, which will be divided into 2 groups. During the group stage, we will play a round-robin format. After the group stage, the teams will advance to the semifinals. The semifinals are divided into “Dominion Division” and “Imperial Novices” categories, with the first 2 teams from each group competing in the Dominion Division semifinals and the second 2 teams from each group in the Imperial Novices semifinals.

2. Rule Modifications: We will be applying basic beach volleyball rules, with some modifications to make it more beginner-friendly. Beginners can use your fingers for touches, but remember not to use just one hand or play over the net not square to your shoulders. Intermediate players have to follow all the rules with not so strict judgement of the second touch.

3. Scoring: Each game will consist of a single set played to 21 points, with a mandatory 2-point difference for victory. You will switch sides every 7 points to ensure fairness.

4. Gentlemanly Conduct and Fair Play Guidelines

   In our pursuit of sporting excellence, we welcome mixed-gender teams with open arms. While strict rules are absent, we recommend a courteous approach: 

   • Gentlemanly Serve: We suggest male players predominantly serve their male counterparts, fostering fair competition.

   • Versatile Play: Female players may serve to any opponent, showcasing their prowess.

   • Should a male serve to a female, play continues, but we all will affectionately raise our eyebrows at the daring gentleman in question!

5. Refereeing: With no referees, let's embody fair play. Teams self-regulate, resolving disputes by replaying contentious points. Victory lies not just in winning but in the bonds we forge.

6. Timings: Games will start immediately after the previous one, with a 5-minute warm-up period before each match. Teams arriving to their match more than 5 minutes late will be forfeited

7. Prizes:

• Imperial Novices (Beginners Division):

  • Teams players that loose the semifinals will be awarded Bronze Medals.

  • Second-place team players will be awarded Silver Medal and One Group Training Session Certificate each.

  • The first-place team players will be awarded Gold Medal and One Individual Training Session Certificate each.

• Dominion Division (Intermediate Division):

  • Teams players that loose the semifinals will be awarded Bronze Medals.

  • Second-place team players will be awarded Silver Medal and Two Group Training Session Certificate each.

  • The first-place team players will be awarded Gold Medal and One Individual Training Session For Two Players Certificate each.
